This policy explains what ApartmentWebDesign.com collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language because our data practices are straightforward: we collect what we need to answer your inquiry and run the site, and nothing more.

Who we are

ApartmentWebDesign.com builds and maintains websites for apartment communities and property managers. When this policy says "we" or "us," it means our company. When it says "you," it means a visitor to this site or someone who contacts us through it.

Information we collect

We collect two kinds of information.

• Information you give us. When you submit the quote, contact, or support form, we collect your name, email, and anything else you choose to include, such as a phone number, your property or company name, the number of units, your current website, and your message. If you use the ROI calculator, the numbers you enter stay in your browser unless you choose to send them with a quote request.
• Information collected automatically. Like most sites, we log standard technical data such as your browser type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and a general, city-level location derived from your IP address. We use this to understand what is useful and to keep the site fast and secure. When you send us an inquiry, we also attach some of this data to your message: the page you arrived on, the site or campaign link that referred you, the pages you viewed and your time on the site, whether you have visited before and when you first did, the page you submitted from, your device type, browser, time zone and screen size, your IP address, and the approximate city-level location and internet provider associated with that IP address. We use these details to respond appropriately, to learn which sources bring us inquiries, and to spot spam and automated abuse (for example, a form submitted seconds after arriving, or an email domain that cannot receive mail). How we use your information

We use the details you submit to respond to your request, prepare a quote, schedule a demo, and discuss your project. We use automatic data to measure traffic, fix problems, and improve the content. We use the visit details attached to an inquiry to reply appropriately, to learn which sources bring us inquiries, and to filter spam and abuse. We do not use your information for unrelated purposes, and we do not sell it.

Legal bases

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we process your information because you asked us to respond to an inquiry, because we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving the site, or because we are required to by law.

Cookies, browser storage, and analytics

We may use cookies and privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and understand which pages help. These do not identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. We honor browser "do not track" signals where required.

To know whether you have visited before, the site keeps one small entry in your browser's local storage under the name "awd_src". It is first-party and it is not a cookie. It records when you first visited, the page you arrived on, the site or campaign link that sent you, and a count of pages viewed in the current visit. It contains no name or contact details, and it is only sent to us if you submit a form. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data for apartmentwebdesign.com in your browser, and the site will still work.

If you asked us about a project and we follow up by email, the links in those emails go through our own address first so we know which email was opened and which link was clicked. After you click one, the site keeps a second local storage entry, "awd_drip", holding a short code for that email. While it is there, each page you open on this site tells us the page address and roughly how long it was open, so we know you came back to look. It is deleted after 120 days, it only exists if you clicked one of those links, and you can clear it the same way. Every follow-up email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the emails at once.

How we share information

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the business, such as our email, hosting, and analytics providers, and only to the extent they need it to perform their work. We require them to protect your data. When you submit a form, we also send your IP address, and only your IP address, to a third-party IP geolocation service so we can look up the approximate city-level location and the internet provider associated with it. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people and our business. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and project information for as long as we are working with you and for a reasonable period afterward for our records, then we delete or anonymize it. The visit details attached to an inquiry are kept with that inquiry record on the same schedule. Analytics data is kept in aggregate.

How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to certain processing. To make a request, use our contact page, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is meant for property managers and operators. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the date below. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
